Southwest Trail Solutions Website
Overview & Challenge
A local Tucson trail designer (and founder of the Sonoran Desert Mountain Bicyclists) asked me to design an easy-to-use, mobile responsive website so he could promote his trail advocacy and design work.
I was not included in the design of his logo, but I used it to create the color palette and typography style of the site. I was also asked to use photographs provided by the client, which weren’t always the best quality.
Audience
National/International clients needing someone to help them with their trail advocacy and environmentally responsible design.
Approach
As with all website work I do, the project starts with a thorough site audit to ensure navigation and page hierarchy is clear and concise. Once that is complete, wireframes are supplied to the client showing the home page and a couple sample internal pages (depending on needs). The next step is static design comps created in InDesign/Illustrator/Photoshop and once that is approved, the final sight is built using a custom theme coded by me in the WordPress CMS. Training is also provided for the client so they can edit the site themselves.
