Overview & Challenge
Catalina Brewing Company was founded by two mountain bikers and was heavily involved in the MTB scene, especially in local races hosted by Epic Rides. Each year I designed a Catalina Brewing Company team jersey Epic Ride’s 24-Hours in the Old Pueblo race.
Audience
Local Tucson and visiting mountain biker riders all attending the 24-Hours in the Old Pueblo Race
Approach
Using Catalina Company’s existing branding (which I created from the ground up), I wanted to design a striking jersey that incorporated the stunning visual of Tucson along with the experience of mountain biking in the desert. One of the most expressed opinions by many racers was the joy of racing and the beauty of the desert during their sunrise/sunset laps.

Overview & Challenge
When I first joined SDMB (Sonoran Desert Mountain Bicyclists) in 2004, they had been around a few years. Their goal was not only to be a social mountain biking club but also to be a recognized trail advocacy group for Tucson and the southern Arizona area.
This jersey was designed to be bright, colorful and fun, and encompass the Tucson mountain biking scene. It was sold both within the club and externally to raise money for trail work.
Audience
Local Tucson mountain bikers, as well as a broader audience nationally. The goal was to bring awareness to SDMB’s trail advocacy efforts through a grassroots type of campaign.
Approach
I took it upon myself to rebrand the entire organization, including a new logo, website, create and maintain a social media presence, and items such as this jersey. It sold incredibly well within the Tucson MTB community.
